Club professionals

We are lucky to have three PGA professionals here at Ely City Golf Club, Head Professional - Andrew George and two Assistant Professionals - Paul Geen & Jamie Le Brun. All with their own impressive recognition of achievements.

Andrew George - Head Professional

PGA Professional AAT Status.

After picking up a club only one year before, Andrew started his professional career at Ely City Golf Club as an assistant professional in 1980 and after qualifying in 1984, he then went off to play the Challenge Tour and then the Australian Tour from 1988 to 1993 and again in 1995 playing in the Far East, Australia and New Zealand.

Paul Geen - Assistant Professional

Paul Geen

Paul Geen joined the Pro Shop team in April 2005 after working as Assistant Professional at Royal Worlington Golf Club and as Head Teaching Professional at West Suffolk Golf Centre. At the age of 19, Paul became a qualified golf instructor through the European Golf Teachers federation while in Spain.

In 2008 Paul became a fully qualified PGA Professional excelling in Coaching and Sports Science. Paul’s passion for coaching has helped clients of all ages win numerous club events including Club Championships, County events and even representing their country in Championships here and around the World. Paul has been involved in County coaching helping juniors across Cambridgeshire improve their skill set and reaching their true potential.

One of Paul’s greatest achievements was taking a junior golfer from complete beginner to being ranked number 2 in Europe, as a result he then went on to represent Ely and Great Britain in the U.S Kids World Championships held at Pinehurst in the USA.

Jamie Le Brun - Assistant Professional

Jamie Le Brun

Jamie Le Brun has progressed through the Club's junior ranks to being Assistant Professional, becoming a fully qualified PGA professional in 2008. Prior to turning Professional, Jamie was a scratch golfer winning many local amateur events including the Cambridgeshire Foursomes Championships, County Boys title which included setting the Course Record at the Wandlebury Course at the Gog Magog Golf Club in Cambridge. Jamie is passionate about helping golfers improve and reach their true potential. Over the years Jamie helped clients win numerous club events, county events and even representing their country in championships here and abroad.

Jamie runs very popular junior golf tuition days throughout the school holidays, as well as masterclasses to help golfers of all abilities improve their game.
