Mens Captain update July

I am writing this update 2 days after my Captains day and would like to thank everyone who was either involved with the organisation or played and who contributed to the success of the day.

It was great to have a full Clubhouse for the presentations and evening bbq and the new large screen was great for the members who wanted to watch the Euro final.

I was overwhelmed by the response to sign-up and for the way that everyone entered into the spirit of the day, congratulations to all prize winners.

The winner of the Captains Prize was James Blackham with 40 points

The Scratch League team has achieved promotion back to Div 1 and the top position will be determined with the result of the last league match at Newmarket. The team is also through to the semi-final in their defence of the Goddard Cup. It is so pleasing to see almost every member of the team has come through the Club’s junior ranks and shows the importance of a strong junior section.

The Mens friendly matches have been well supported and we recently won the home match against Bourn and drew the away match with Thetford. If you have not put your name down to represent the club in these matches but would like to be involved then please add your name to the list in the locker room.

Looking forward, as well as the usual competitions and medals we have the Pro-am on 19th August, Captain v Vice Captain on 17th September, Charity Day on 23rd September and Invitation day on 2nd October. Please look out for the various notices around the Club to sign-up for these events.
